We reserved 75 cars for this convertible project. Backyard Conversions
has been commissioned to produce ONLY 75 1964 Pontiac GTO Convertibles
for PYE. These will be converted from our 2004 40th Anniversary GTO,
issue #6. These are 389 Tri-Power 4-speed cars. Many extra details were
included with this car including PYE’s own Hurst Wheels
Backyard Conversions will disassemble the car, remove the top,
cast a convertible boot, paint it black and install. They will then
trim out the windshield frame to replicate the factory look. BYC will
also fabricate a pair of sun visors and paint them parchment.
Vintage 1964 vanity Arizona license plates will be installed
on the bumpers “RA GTO P” (rag top) and a “One OF SEVENTY-FIVE”
decal will adorn the front of the box.
We know that several of our customers were left disappointed
in not being able to get one of our 75 1968 GTO Convertibles
from last year. We still take calls from people looking for
one of these rare cars. Cost for the 1964 GTO Convertible
is $99.95 plus $7.50 shipping & handling.
