Performance Years Enterprises is proud to announce our 5th Anniversary Pontiac. This was also Pontiacs 5th year of the GTO so we thought it fitting to choose the 68 for our milestone. PYE will be offering this 1/18th scale Ertl die cast GTO, Stock #29321 Issue #5. This will be a LIMITED EDITION of ONLY 1500 pieces. PYE will again do 126 SPECIAL BLACK CHROME FINISH Chase cars and the last 6 cars produced will be GOLD PLATED GTOs. We are again honored to produce this commemorative collectible car for the Pontiac-Oakland Club International and the GTO Association Of America for their National Events. This year the POCI Nationals will be held in St. Louis, MO and the GTOAA will be at Columbus, OH. The car will come with custom GTOAA and POCI license plates.
The 1968 Motor Trend Car Of The Year honor was awarded to the Pontiac GTO. This was due to the all-new design of the GTO. Adding to the new more rounded, shorter body was several performance and safety enhancements. One of the biggest advances was the new Endura front bumper. The GTO was first car to use this.
Our GTO will be painted Mayfair Maze Yellow with black stripes and black interior. There will be several changes made to our GTO not found on the regular production Ertl GTOs. For example: the rare Rally Stripe option, spark plug wires, door lock knobs, carpeting, lower door panel carpet, door sill moulding, tinted windshield, chrome exhaust tips, chrome Ram Air lid, different Rally II wheels, Sport steering wheel, seat & door panel trim, pedal trim, detailed tail lamps, and several other paint details done to the engine compartment, interior and under carriage.
A special 5th Anniversary window box will be decorated with the 2003 GTOAA and POCI National Convention logos. As a bonus, our 5th Anniversary car will come with a Snap-On replica red tool chest with “Pontiac” and the Pontiac logos painted on. And again this year we will be including a numbered reproduction 1968 window sticker.
If you would like to continue your series of your own personal serial number to match your past Pontiac releases, please call early to reserve. We will hold numbers until June 1st. Give us a call if interested in the Black Chrome Chase Car (these sold out very fast last year) or the Six Gold Plated GTOs (these will be offered through a phone auction later this summer) The cars are scheduled to ship mid June.
