This is a "Pre-Production Sample Car from Hwy. 61 / Diecast Promotions"...that was used to proof the colors & details prior to manufacturing...! I have acquired several prototype "sample" cars from many manufactures in the last 27 plus years of being in business & I will be periodically adding them to the web site in the "** Factory Sample * Prototype Cars **" section located on the left margin under the "Special Interest" tab.
I purchased this sample car directly from Fred Ertl III.

This is a Rare One Off Factory Sample Car..!This Sample Car is in near perfect condition..! There is a flaw in the left trunk stripe as seen in the photos.
Comes with a Certificate Of Authenticity.
The car you see in these photos is the car we will ship out. This sample car was purchased without a box. We will pack very carefully.

*Some of the issues on this Sample Car that was corrected for the production cars. As seen in these photos. *This Sample Car has BLANK license plates, this sample car was made prior to the license plate designation...should be "Florida, 6-5829" 1969.*This sample car has the big block "396 Turbo-Jet engine (see air cleaner decal & big block exhaust manifolds) The production car has the 302 Turbo-Fire small block.* The front grill is missing the silver trim that goes around the outer edge. *Hand Printed stock number tag on gas tank.--------------------------------------------------------------------Production Car specifications:
Opening hood, doors & trunk, scissor type hood hinges & real aspect style door hinges, steerable front wheels, working suspension, rotating drive shaft with rear wheels.
Front & rear spoilers, cowl hood, fully wired & plumbed 302 engine compartment, 4-speed, carpet, seat belts, opening glove box, spare tire & inflator, spackle painted trunk, flip down license plate, Rally wheels & white letter tires. Great detail. Plus all of the cool working features "The Original" Hwy. 61 put in there cars.!
