This is a "First Shot Prototype" car from Hwy. 61 / Diecast Promotions", that was used to proof the colors & details prior to manufacturing...!

This car was acquired from "Fred Ertl III". I will be periodically adding these Sample Cars to the web site in the "** Factory Sample * Prototype Cars **" section located on the left margin under the "Special Interest" tab.

I purchased this sample car directly from Fred Ertl III.

This collectible Comes with CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY..!

*** Below are some of the several inaccuracies found on this FIRST SAMPLE CAR:

* The "Belvedere GTX" fender emblems mounted too high on the fender.

* The fender "GTX" emblems should NOT have the RED outline.

* The "HEMI" and the right side "Pentastar" emblems are mounted too high (should be below the body line.

* The tail light panel is black with silver "PLYMOUTH" letters...should be a silver panel with BLACK letters.

* The chrome "GTX" emblem on the right side of trunk lid is missing.

* Wrong placement for the "HEMI" decal on left trunk lid should be on the stripe.

* Has the blank pre-production license plates...production license plates were "OHIO 672 HP".

* The "HEMI 426 decal on the air cleaner is yellow, should be orange.

* The interior carpet, dash, rear package tray & steering wheel is black...these should ALL be copper colored matching the interior.

* The headliner is Black...should be copper colored matching the interior.

* The interior color is a reddish copper color...production car has a toned down copper color more like the stripes.

* The under carriage is WHITE...should be black.

* NOTE the hand written sticker on the gas tank AND the plastic clam shell showing Stock Number, Sample Number 1 and the Date it was received at Hwy. 61 for approval.

Production Car specifications: 426 Hemi..! dual exhaust with chrome tips, sliding & tilting bucket seats, console, wired & plumbed engine compartment, interior carpet, opening glove box & console lid, trunk mat with jack.

Opening GTX Sport Hood with real scissor type hinges, opening doors with real aspect ratio type hinges & opening trunk, steerable front wheels, working suspension, rotating drive shaft with rear wheels.

Plus all of the cool working features The "ORIGINAL" Hwy 61 put in.
