This is a "Prototype Sample" car from Hwy. 61 / Diecast Promotions", that was used to proof the colors & details prior to manufacturing...!

THIS CAR WAS NEVER RELEASED TO PRODUCTION..!

This car was acquired from "Fred Ertl III". I will be periodically adding these Sample Cars to the web site in the "** Factory Sample * Prototype Cars **" section located on the left margin under the "Special Interest" tab.

This collectible Comes with a CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY..!

*** This car was intended to be a promotional collectible car for "Advance Auto Parts" auto parts stores.

NOTE the tampo pad printed front & rear license plates, these are NOT decals. The intention was to come up with a Street/Strip car based off of the famous Sox & Martin drag car. (see the second photo with the production S&M GTX & the Advance Auto Parts GTX) They used minimal race contingency decals & used the Sox & Martin paint scheme with the Blue center stripe & top replaced with GLOSS BLACK.

The car looks amazing unfortunately the project never received the green light from the powers that be.

I personally would call this car in mint condition, clean, great paint, no missing parts it does have a fog line in the center of the windshield as seen in the photographs. (the windshield IS NOT cracked, the fog line could possibly be polished out)

This sample car comes in a Supercar Collectibles box.

Specs. on the production car: The original Sox & Martin GTX was produced by Supercar Collectibles, it was #8 in the "Sox & Martin Series" and was released in 2002.

Super Stock/D Class, 440, 4-speed.

Engine wires & hoses, 4-speed, headers, tach. on the dash, Keystone mag wheels, slicks & red line skinnies.

Sox & Martin paint scheme with race graphics.

Opening hood, doors & trunk, ALL with correct style hinges, steerable front wheels working suspension, wired & plumbed engine compartment, tilting & sliding bucket seats, carpet, opening glove box, rotating drive shaft with rear wheels.

With all of cool details "The Original" Hwy. 61 put in..!
