I have acquired several prototype "sample" cars from many manufactures in the last 29 plus years of being in business, I will be periodically adding them to the web site in the "** Factory Sample * Prototype Cars **" section located on the left margin under the "Special Interest" tab.

I purchased this sample car directly from Fred Ertl III.

This is a Rare One-Off Factory Pre-Production Sample Car..!

This Sample Car is in near perfect mint condition, no missing or broken parts.

This car comes with a Production Outer BOX..!

Comes with a Certificate Of Authenticity.

*~*~* Some of the issues on this Sample Car that was corrected for the production cars. (As seen in these photos.) *~*~*

* This Sample car should have the WHITE Bumble Bee tail stripe.

* This Sample Car has the 1968 GTS hood insert & the 1969 GTS hood insert...should have 1969 style 340 call outs.

* Sample Cars GTS hood emblem should be silver AND red, this is black & silver.

* Sample Car has a GTS emblem on the trunk...should not be there.

* The Gold paint is a darker shade than the production cars.

* The vinyl top had too much texture and was more of an ivory color...production car has white top.

* Sample Car is missing the "Dodge Fratzog" emblem on roof sail panel.

* The 340 engine should be factory blue in 1969...not orange as in '68.

* Sample car is missing the "Emissions Sticker" on left inner fender.

* Sample Car does not have the wood grain steering wheel.

* Sample Car does not have the wood grain shift knob.

* Sample Car came with a 4-speed...production cars have an automatic transmission.

* Sample Car has WHITE Sample license plates. Should have CA. plate with "BQP 852"

* Note the tag on gas tank with sample stock number.

* This Sample Car comes with a Certificate Of Authenticity.

* This sample car comes in a Production Outer Box.

340-4 bbl., automatic transmission, bucket seats and console, carpet, seat belts, opening glove box, poseable sun visors, trunk mat, jack, dual exhaust, Dodge mag style wheel covers & red line tires.

Opening hood with correct type hinges, opening doors with real aspect ratio hinges & opening trunk, steerable front wheels working suspension, wired & plumbed engine compartment, rotating drive shaft with rear wheels. Plus all of the cool working features Hwy. 61 puts in.
