This car was made to approve the color combinations of exterior & interior colors, graphics placement, options, wheels, tires, fit & finish prior to going into manufacturing production...!

I purchased this sample car directly from Fred Ertl III / Highway 61 Collectibles.

The car is in MINT condition, clean, no missing or broken parts..!

This sample car does not come in a box..!

This is a Rare Factory Sample Car..!

*~*~* Some of the issues on this Sample Car that was corrected for the production cars. (As seen in these photos.) *~*~*

* Sample Car has a pre production front grill...it is solid, no opening grill slats.

* Sample Car has NO front spoiler, it does not even have the spoiler support holes drilled.

* Sample Car has the REAR SPOILER mounting holes plugged on rear trunk lid.

* Production Cars had the GREEN tail light panel...NOT black.

* Sample Car is missing the center console.

* Sample Car has the "Standard Mustang Seats (seat pattern)...production cars have the optional "Decor Mustang Seats" (different seat pattern).

* Sample Car has the Standard BLACK steering wheel...the production cars have the optional BROWN wood steering wheel.

* Sample Car has the standard spare tire mounted in the stock position.

* Production Car has the spare tire mounted in front of trunk for the Boss 429 Cars.

* Sample Car has the battery mounted under the hood...incorrect for Boss 429 cars.

* Production Boss 429 cars have the battery mounted in the trunk.

* Sample Car has a wrong blueish color painted under carriage...should be same grabber green color as the body.

* The bright RED rear axle is painted wrong...should be the "Red Oxide" color.

* * NOTE: The factory hand written stock number on the muffler.

429 C.I., 4-speed, dual exhaust, "429" hood scoop, trunk mounted battery, Ford 9-inch rear axle with 3.91 ratio and a Traction-Lok limited-slip differential, front spoiler, carpet, floor mats, seat belts poseable sun visors, tilting & sliding bucket seats, console, Mustang Magnum 500 road wheels & Goodyear white letter tires.

Opening hood, doors & trunk, ALL with correct style hinges, steerable front wheels, working front & rear suspension, rotating drive shaft with rear wheels plus with all of cool features that the "Original Hwy 61" cars had..!
