I purchased this sample car directly from Fred Ertl III / Highway 61 Collectibles.

The car is in excellent condition, clean, no missing or broken parts..!

This sample car does not come in a box..!

This is a Rare Factory Sample Car..!

*~*~* Some of the issues on this Sample Car that was corrected for the production cars. (As seen in these photos.) *~*~*

* Production Car has "WHITE STEEL WHEELS"...not mag wheels.

* Production Car has "STOCK SIZE TIRES"...not slicks & skinnies.

* Production cars DO NOT have a CUT-OUT in the hood. * Sample Car Should NOT have a Tachometer on the dash. * Sample Car has an ALL CHROME license plate frame...should be BLACK with added paint details.

* Production Car has an "AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION"...Sample Car has a 4-SPEED transmission.

* Sample Car has a 4-SPEED Shifter on the floor...production car has an automatic column shift lever.

* Sample Car has a "CLUTCH PEDAL & MANUAL TRANSMISSION BRAKE PEDAL...production car has an automatic transmission brake pedal.

* Sample Car should not have the ROLL BARS going into the trunk.

* Sample Car should not have the CROSS BRACE in the trunk.

* Sample Car should NOT have an aftermarket gas tank in the trunk.

* The Battery in the Sample Car does NOT have all of the paint details as the production cars.

* The Sample Car has "TWO Coils"...the one on the fender should NOT be there.

* The "Ballast Resister" and both "Relays" on the firewall are not painted...all 3 are painted on the production cars.

* The Sample Car is missing both "BLACK Breather Caps" on both valve covers.

* The Sample Car is missing both "426 Super Stock" decals on both valve covers.

* Sample Car has "BLACK Spark Plug Wires"...production cars had RED spark plug wires.

* The Sample Car has a BLACK "Front K-Member"...production cars had a SILVER K-Member.

* Sample Car has a "DANA Rear Axle"...production cars have a 8 3/4" rear axle.

* The "GAS TANK" on the Sample Car is installed backwards.

* NOTE: The factory hand written Stock Number and Date on the chassis.

Altered Wheel Base, 1965 HEMI AFX Plymouth.

TEST MULE..!

The first experimental altered wheel base used to test weight distribution & traction. Very historical drag race car..!

Features include a lift off hood, opening doors with correct style hinges, steerable front wheels, working suspension, wired and plumbed 426 Hemi, automatic transmission, headers with collectors, engine wiring & hoses, fuel lines, accurate single seat race interior, gauges in the dash, tachometer, roll bar, and cloth seat belts. The trunk opens to see the larger battery mounted back there, and the chassis has the moved forward front X-member, fuel pump, rotating driveshaft with rear wheels, and real metal leaf springs....very detailed.
