This is a "First Shot Prototype" car from Hwy. 61 / Diecast Promotions", that was used to proof the colors & details prior to manufacturing...!

This car was acquired from "Fred Ertl III". I will be periodically adding these Sample Cars to the web site in the "** Factory Sample * Prototype Cars **" section located on the left margin under the "Special Interest" tab.

I purchased this sample car directly from Fred Ertl III.

This collectible Comes with CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY..!

*** Below are some of the several inaccuracies found on this FIRST SAMPLE CAR:

* This sample car came with the painted valve covers. The production cars had chrome valve covers.

* The engine color is wrong, it was painted Oldsmobile 350 gold. Production car was painted Oldsmobile 4-4-2 400 bronze.

* The factory forgot the battery and battery cables.

* This sample car came with the wrong wider Goodyear tires. The production car had the narrower Firestone tires.

* The spare tire & wheel is wrong, sample car has the wide Goodyear tire & a chrome steele wheel. Should have the narrower Firestone spare tire & 5-spoke Olds 4-4-2 wheel.

* The under trunk lid decals ("Jacking Instructions" "Jack Storage" and "Posi-Traction") decals are placed in the wrong position.

The car is in near mint condition. No paint issues it is missing the outside mirror.

This sample car came without a box.

Opening hood, doors & trunk with correct style hinges, steerable front wheels, working suspension, rotating drive shaft with rear wheels, ignition & engine wiring and hoses, 400 4bbl, automatic, dual exhaust, trunk mat & spare tire, tilting & sliding bucket sets, console, folding sun visors, interior carpet, opening glove box & center console, magnum style road wheels & red line tires.

Great looking color combination.
