This is a "Pre-Production Sample Car AND box from Hwy. 61 / Diecast Promotions"...that was used to proof the colors & details of the car & box prior to manufacturing...!

I have acquired several prototype "sample" cars from many manufactures in the last 27 plus years of being in business & I will be periodically adding them to the web site in the "** Factory Sample * Prototype Cars **" section located on the left margin under the "Special Interest" tab.

I purchased this sample car directly from Fred Ertl III.

PLEASE NOTE: *~* As seen in these photos, This Sample Car has the wrong rear fender "Fuel Injection" emblems, car actually has the 283 2-4 bbls. engine, the production car came with NO EMBLEMS.

*License plate is incorrect. Production license was a vanity plate reading "STRIP TZ", California 1957.

*Production car had an aftermarket floor shifter, this sample car has the wrong column shifter.

*The Sample Box came with the Supercar Raceway inner insert, production box had the standard gray insert.

*ALSO, the "Supercar Collectibles" logo was applied upside down.

Replica of a "Super Street" 1957 Chevy 150 Sedan with the 283 V8 and 2-4 BBL. carburetor & intake set up, with aftermarket chrome air cleaners.

Headers and aftermarket dual exhaust, the production car came with after market floor shifter.

Comes with the aftermarket Radir mag wheels with Slicks & Skinnies.

Opening hood, doors & trunk, scissor type hood hinges & real aspect style door hinges, steerable front wheels working suspension, wired & plumbed engine compartment, sliding & tilting front seat, poseable sun visors, rotating drive shaft with rear wheels, brake lines, detailed undercarriage, trunk mat, spare tire.

Very Detailed with all of the cool working features Hwy. 61 includes..!
